Trauma & EMDR Therapy Services in Peoria, IL
— Our Approach
Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
At Nova Lotus Wellness, I offer comprehensive, trauma-informed care tailored to your unique story. Beyond specialized EMDR and PTSD treatment, my practice provides care for complex trauma (C-PTSD), anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and couples experiencing relational distress.
You do not need to know exactly which type of therapy you need before reaching out. I take time to understand what brings you to therapy, what you hope to address, and what approach may be appropriate for your needs.
I offer in-person therapy in Peoria and telehealth counseling throughout Illinois, giving you options for accessing care based on your needs and location.
EMDR Intensive Therapy in Peoria, IL
EMDR Intensive Therapy offers a more concentrated format for EMDR treatment than traditional weekly sessions. It provides dedicated treatment time to focus on specific experiences or therapeutic goals.
Before beginning an intensive, I consider your history, current concerns, goals, and readiness to determine whether this format may be appropriate for you.
I am an EMDR-trained therapist with EMDR basic training and EMDR Intensive Therapy training, supported by additional clinical training in trauma-focused care.
PTSD Therapy: In-Person & Telehealth Sessions
Post-traumatic stress and complex trauma (C-PTSD) can affect far more than memories of what happened. It may influence emotions, chronic anxiety, mood, relationships, stress responses, and everyday experiences.
I provide PTSD therapy focused on understanding how your experiences are affecting you now and identifying what you want to address through treatment. Depending on your individual treatment plan, therapy may include trauma-focused psychotherapy and EMDR.
In-person PTSD therapy is available at my Peoria office, with telehealth sessions available throughout Illinois.
Trauma Therapy with Statewide Telehealth Access
Trauma does not affect everyone in the same way. Some people recognize a clear connection between past experiences and present concerns. Others notice difficult emotions, patterns, or responses without being sure where they began.
Trauma therapy provides space to explore how past experiences, grief and loss, or unresolved patterns affect your present life. I tailor treatment to your specific concerns, strengths, and goals—whether you are working through single-event trauma, ongoing relational distress, anxiety, or life transitions.
I provide in-person trauma therapy in Peoria and telehealth counseling for clients located throughout Illinois.
Therapy for Veterans
Military service can involve experiences, transitions, and pressures that continue to affect life during or after service. As a trauma therapist and retired U.S. Army veteran, I bring clinical trauma training and familiarity with military culture to my work with veterans.
Every veteran's story is different. I approach therapy without assuming that military service has affected everyone in the same way. Treatment may address trauma, PTSD, difficult military experiences, transitions, relationships, or other concerns affecting your life.
When appropriate to your needs and treatment plan, EMDR may also be incorporated into therapy.
— Collaborative Care
Which Therapy Approach Is Right for Me?
You do not have to make that decision on your own.
When we begin, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope to work on, and which options make sense for your circumstances. Depending on your needs, that may include trauma-focused psychotherapy, EMDR therapy, an EMDR Intensive format, or support for anxiety, depression, grief, or couples dynamics.
Treatment can evolve as your needs and goals become clearer.
